Who We Are
More than values, they are woven into the very fabric of who we are. Since our inception, we've been dedicated to nurturing the kākano, the seeds sown by our ancestors, and ensuring that the learning journey resonates deeply with learners of diverse ages, experiences, and backgrounds.
"A seed waiting to be watered" – our motif encompasses our story, mission, and vision by nurturing a seed and fostering its growth in the right environment. At Manawa Māori, we believe that everyone has the potential to learn and grow when they are empowered, supported and confident.
The mangōpare positioned at the motif's base symbolises the resilient and deep-rooted foundation of our community, while the larger mangōpare above represents the shelter our platform provides for learners. This open space reflects our natural surroundings and the boundless opportunities they offer.
At the centre of the design lies the poutama, embodying a seed of mātauranga, or knowledge. This seed thrives, springs to life, and flourishes when cultivated in an environment of compassion, trust, wisdom and support.
