Cokoha is a platform app that empowers communities in Aotearoa to share and exchange resources with the simple tap of a phone. As part of the lead-up to the app's official launch, our team designed a selection of bilingual marketing materials, including a comprehensive brochure, poster, and double-sided flyer. These resources were designed to resonate with diverse communities across Aotearoa while reinforcing Cokoha's brand identity as a Māori-owned and led organisation.

We focused on integrating both Māori and English to highlight bilingualism as a forward-thinking approach, celebrating language revitalisation and motivating users to contribute to their communities, tapping into the power of connection through te reo Māori.

  • The purpose of this bilingual marketing initiative was to connect with diverse communities nationwide and strengthen Cokoha's position as a Māori-owned and led brand ahead of their app's launch.

  • We prioritised brand positioning and revitalisation strategies from the planning stages, which laid the foundation for our moodboarding and the design direction of both copywriting and visuals in Māori and English. Our translators worked on key brand taglines, catchphrases, and paragraph text, which were integrated into the final design as easily digestible words and phrases for beginner learners across Aotearoa. Throughout the process, we facilitated collaborative review meetings at key stages to ensure alignment with both branding and marketing objectives.
